Friends of Charlottesville Downtown Art and Culture
A place of fun and friendliness

Every first Sunday of the month, there is a Friend of Charlottesville Downtown art event—an Open Figure Session at Central Place in downtown Charlottesville from 11 am to 2 pm. Professional artists and the public come together to create art and foster an art and culture atmosphere.
Friends of Cville Downtown, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit created in 2021. Our mission is to make Charlottesville a better-than-ever, more inclusive place for everyone by working with city government and the community to craft strategies and programs that stimulate Downtown social and economic vitality.

Figure Study C’ville is a program that started in 1988 in Charlottesville, led by sculptor Robert Bricker in his studio. With over 30 years of experience hosting figure study sessions for artists in Charlottesville and the surrounding area, it has become a cherished opportunity for both artists and those who love creating figurative art.
